Shelter life is hard on all dogs, but it is especially hard on senior dogs. All they want is a soft bed and a quiet place to rest their head. Stella is an 8 year old Catahoula mix with the most gorgeous eyes, half brown/half blue. Once outside, we discovered she knows sit and shake. She is wise beyond her years and so calm and gentle. This allows for follow-up compliance with the required spay/neuter. The shelter schedules the surgery with a local vet at the time of adoption.

If you are interested in a dog but live outside the adoption area, contact your local rescue and ask them to 'pull' the dog for you so that you can adopt it from them.
