Breed: Redbone Hound mix? NOTE: Breeds are our best guess when we do not have proof of parentage

Sex: Male

Age: 12 months approx

Size: Medium

Color: Black and tan

Other Dogs: OK with dogs

Notes: Here are two of the ten Redbone Hound mixes that were surrendered by an owner who wanted nothing more to do with them. These two goofballs are males and are approximately one year old. Please visit the very overcrowded Patrick County Public Animal Shelter or call 276-694-6259.

These dogs were featured on the Blue Ridge Animal Welfare League Facebook website on Aug 29th, 2026. Phone the Patrick County Public Animal Shelter on 276-694-6259 for more information about these dogs.

Dogs are claimed, adopted and rescued everyday so please contact Patrick County Animal Shelter to check that these dogs are available.

.

  • Adoption of dogs is open to residents of Carroll, Patrick, Floyd, Franklin and Henry County, VA
  • Dogs that have been spayed/neutered are available for adoption to any location including out of state residents (adoption conditions apply).
Per state code, adopters of animals that are not yet spayed or neutered must reside in Patrick County or an adjacent Virginia county (Carroll, Patrick, Floyd, Franklin and Henry County, VA). This allows for follow-up compliance with the required spay/neuter. The shelter schedules the surgery with a local vet at the time of adoption.

If you are interested in a dog but live outside the adoption area, contact your local rescue and ask them to 'pull' the dog for you so that you can adopt it from them.
