For cats born outdoors, the outside world is not something to escape, it is home.
Research shows that community cats in managed colonies are often just as healthy as indoor pets. Once they are fixed, everything improves, less roaming, less fighting, better overall health, and colonies naturally stabilize over time.
Are you feeding outside cats and need help preventing unwanted litters of kittens?
BRAWL is the recipient of a grant from United Spay Alliance to offer free spay/neuter services to community cats in Patrick County. Cats selected for this program will receive a spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, ear-tip, and a one-month flea treatment at no cost to the caretaker. If you are interested in this service, please complete the spay/neuter inquiry form by clicking here and someone will contact you. Note: you must be willing to bring the cat in a trap or carrier to Rotary Field in Stuart on the designated surgery day.
We want to provide Kongs to entertain the dogs
in the kennels while they wait for a forever home.
We fill them with smooth Peanut Butter. If you would like to donate Peanut Butter for the dogs it should be smooth not chunky,
and must not contain Xylitol as that is toxic for dogs, the brand does not matter. Click here for more info on how to donate.

Notes: This sweet young girl is 7 months old and was surrendered with her two sisters. She is the shyest of the three and will need a patient adopter to help her gain confidence. She has bonded closely with the kennel attendents, proving her trust must be earned. She has had her first vaccinations (except for rabies, which will be given when she is spayed). If you think you can give her a good home, please visit the Patrick County Public Animal Shelter or call 276-694-6259 for more information. Because she is not yet spayed, her adopter must reside in Patrick, Carroll, Floyd, Henry, or Franklin county VA.

Dog adoption fee is $10 - includes free spay/neuter and rabies vaccination.
This dog has been in the shelter too long. Please visit her and find a home or a foster home or a rescue that can move this dog to a safe place.

- Dogs that have been spayed/neutered are available for adoption to any location including out of state residents (adoption conditions apply).
If you are interested in a dog but live outside the adoption area, contact your local rescue and ask them to 'pull' the dog for you so that you can adopt it from them.
