For cats born outdoors, the outside world is not something to escape, it is home.
Research shows that community cats in managed colonies are often just as healthy as indoor pets. Once they are fixed, everything improves, less roaming, less fighting, better overall health, and colonies naturally stabilize over time.
Are you feeding outside cats and need help preventing unwanted litters of kittens?
BRAWL is the recipient of a grant from United Spay Alliance to offer free spay/neuter services to community cats in Patrick County. Cats selected for this program will receive a spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, ear-tip, and a one-month flea treatment at no cost to the caretaker. Note: you must be willing to bring the cat in a trap or carrier to Rotary Field in Stuart on the designated surgery day.
We want to provide Kongs to entertain the dogs
in the kennels while they wait for a forever home.
We fill them with smooth Peanut Butter. If you would like to donate Peanut Butter for the dogs it should be smooth not chunky,
and must not contain Xylitol as that is toxic for dogs, the brand does not matter. Click here for more info on how to donate.

Notes: Wilson is a special dog with special needs. He was surrendered by his first owner because he did not do well around chickens. He was adopted and returned by his second owner because he is deaf. While it has not yet been confirmed by a vet, our tests lead us to believe he is indeed deaf. This is quite common in white dogs and cats. Because of this, he will need to be in a home with a secure fence because deaf dogs cannot hear approaching vehicles, verbal commands, or predators. Training a deaf dog can be rewarding and challenging. They can learn hand signals (we use a 'thumbs up' when he does something good), vibrating collars, and flashing lights to get their attention. Yes, Wilson is adorable (and a bit clingy), yes, he looks like a giant fluffy polar bear, and yes the road ahead will take effort. If you consider adopting him, please do not do it based on looks alone. Wilson does not deserve to be failed by us humans again. Wilson is less than a year old and will be neutered this week.
